Official Performers
The Tidelanders have several highly qualified singing quartet ensembles available for hire to sing in the Houston, TX area. Our Barbershop Quartets can perform at many different styles of events including business or company, anniversaries, weddings, bahmitzfahs, etc. They currently include: Lakeside, Ringside, and S.L.E.D.
What are Barbershop Singing Quartets
An ensemble that sings four part harmony in the a cappella (unaccompanied) barbershop style of music. Like a Barbershop chorus, they are comprised of the Tenor, Lead, Baritone, and Bass parts. These groups of 4 part harmonies go back in history to the 19th century and were particularly inspired by African American performers of the time. They used jazz, ragtime, and musical features like slides that are still used in the hobby today. They can be serious or considered a comedy ensemble. Many comedy ensembles focus on performing parodies, jokes, and other forms of entertainment.

History
The Tidelanders have a long standing history of having fun and high quality singing quartet ensembles performing in our chapter. The INNSIDERS won gold in 1971.
Service Area
Our singing quartets for hire can travel to any part of the Greater City of Houston Metroplex. Cities or areas outside of this large geographical region are at the discretion of the groups themselves. All arrangements including performance fees are negotiated directly with the group being hired.
